Mediation and Dispute Resolution
At Parry Coates Family Law, we are dedicated to assisting you reach an agreement, where possible, without the need for Court intervention.
Mediation or Dispute Resolution requires ‘compromise’, it allows parties to ‘control’ the outcomes, provides parties with ‘certainty’ if an agreement is reached and minimises ‘costs’ both financial and emotional.
At our first meeting with you, advice will be given about alternatives to litigation or Court proceedings. Our current family law system requires parties to negotiate their dispute in mediation or a dispute resolution process. It is one of the required steps in the Pre-action Procedures outlined by the Court.
When you engage our lawyers to assist you, we start the negotiations with your former partner or their legal representative, and where no agreement is reached, mediation is scheduled. We continue to work with you in that process.
If agreement cannot be reached, our family lawyers will discuss with you alternatives to progress your matter.
